Gutter Cleaning & Brightening

Prevent Water Damage and Let Your Gutters Shine

Keeping your gutters clean and free flowing is a must and if you don’t have a viable protection system, service needs to be performed regularly. In addition to improving the overall look of your property, gutters will function more efficiently, protecting your roof, walls, windows, doors and patio from becoming damaged.

What is the best methodology?

  • Each house is different, with varying degrees of roof angle – we provide an initial inspection to offer most effective methods and making safety a priority.
  • Safety is strictly enforced, using safety harnesses when walking on the roof and ladders being level and secure.
  • For lighter amounts of debris, gutters are first cleared out with a hand blower; for heavier amounts, we scoop it into buckets and dispose of it accordingly.
  • All downspouts are also cleared in the process.
  • If gutter faces need cleaning/brightening, a special solution is mixed with which we agitate with a soft brush then rinse free (including the surrounding areas where splashing may have occurred).

What are the advantages of keeping my gutters clean?

  • Most gutters will collect debris over time (usually every few months), clogging them and trapping water where it is likely to cause damage.
  • Gutters are there to re-route water coming off your roof and move it away from the house and foundation to avoid leaks and hidden damage.
  • Once gutters become clogged, the debris in them overspills with the water, creating annoyances around entrances and staining their exteriors and other surfaces.
  • Aluminum gutters are particularly prone to staining and oxidation as their protective coating wears off – our service removes this along with the failed finish.
  • Keeping your gutters clean and functional is basic maintenance that can add years to the life and value of your home and foundation.

How often should gutters be cleaned and when is the best time?

  • Three times a year is recommended in spring, summer and fall.
  • This schedule also alleviates the possibility of ice dams forming in the winter during the freeze/thaw process.
  • It’s easy to set up a maintenance program to ensure that you receive regular service when it’s time.
